3 ways to intentionally reconnect through insightful conversations

It is a universal fact that #communication is the key for any #relationship. The relation you have with your loved ones and family directly affects your peace and happiness. #Mentalpeace  and #happiness in your personal life in turn helps you to be more productive at your work place too.  However, this part is the most neglected one for most of us.

Many of us have taken the connection with family and loved ones for granted.

Did you ever ask yourself if you are giving enough importance and spending quality time with your spouse or family?

If it’s too late, your effort may just be #wateringthedeadplant. With most of us adapting to #remoteworking  and spending more time at home, this is the best time to #reconnect with our family through effective communication.

Here are 3 ways to intentionally reconnect through insightful conversations:

  1. Start with #smalltalks and simple conversations – If you are feeling awkward to suddenly a long-neglected relationship, this way is for you.
Start your conversation each day with simple small talks such as "How was your day today?", or even a small compliment such as "Hey son! You look fresh today. Did you try any new workouts?".
Remember to be as genuine as possible while complimenting the other person. If you are asking casual questions, try to include little details that you may have observed that day.
For example – "I see you had an eventful and a busy day. How was it"? These little observations and kind questions can help you #reconnect and find the lost spark in your relationship. As everything, this process too takes time. So be patient and keep the conversations going.
  2. Discuss about the #challenges your family is facing and suggest few measures for betterment – Be it a small family or a huge organization, issues and challenges are common. If you have already been doing #smalltalks for a while, now is the time to discuss about the common challenges you see in the family and how you think you can all collectively overcome them. Make it a discussion rather than an argument. Start with appreciating the effort that the person is already putting, if any.
For example – Hey Linda! It is really great how you take care of our daughter’s homework. I noticed that she is particularly struggling with her Math’s homework. Do you think we must hire an additional tutor for help?
These kinds of insightful conversations convey a lot about you to your loved ones.
First and foremost, they appreciate that you are noticing the challenges and are willing to help.
Second, it creates a healthy conversational environment which is important to overcome any challenge.
  3. Be #proactive in having deep conversations – Couples or family members who can have deep conversations about bigger things in life develop a stronger bond which last long.
Though this is initially a challenge for any relationship, it is the most powerful way of reconnecting.
Unlike the other two ways, you must find time and plan for these. You might already be discussing regular things such as laundry, bills, chores etc. But these deep conversations are more to do with planning for future, discussing each other’s’ dreams and such meaningful things.

As simple or complex all these ways of #reconnecting may seem, these are powerful ways to get back to the lost charm in your relationship or to just establish a new one with your family. After all, #family is the key to joy and happiness
