5 reasons why you must get out of your comfort zone

Neha has been assigned a new and interesting project on which she can work during her free time. She has been looking for such an opportunity from quite some time.

On Monday, she knew she had enough time to spend on this new project. However, just like most of us, laziness crept in.

She started procrastinating it saying to herself that she would do it after an hour and then more than half a day was spent.

After half a day she pushed it further saying "This is a whole new project I know nothing about. I think I must start it fresh some day!"

Would Neha postpone her routine work with deadlines just as she postponed the new one?

Is the reason for Neha not starting the new work just laziness or something else too?

Well, here are the answers we all know.

What Neha did was just something we all do if we do not want to get out of our #comfortzones. Regular work even with a deadline is something that is known and in our comfort zone. Whereas something new and unknown scares us. Just like it did to Neha. We postpone such work to the extent it can be postponed to.

Comfort zones are like soothing yet slow poisons. Living in them feels so comfortable that we do not want to get out of them.

Here are 5 reasons why you must get out of your #comfortzone.

  1. What lies beyond the fear is your success – For most of us, trying something new, getting out of #comfortzone are some things that we fear the most. We all are scared of the initial difficult times. But we must foresee the great results we see beyond that phase.
  2. Comfort zone often hinders progress – You cannot achieve something new by doing the same thing over and over. If you want something big for your career, personal growth, or health, you must do something new for it. For this, you must get out of your same old #comfortzone.
  3. It is all worth it – The initial step you take to get out of your #comfortzone is enough to get you momentum. This might do wonders for your progress and just remember that it is all worth the result you always wanted. Getting out of #comfortzone does not mean you are not content. It simply means you want to take steps to reach a place where you are worth reaching.
  4. It boosts your self-confidence – Do you remember the time when you wanted to do something, couldn’t do it because of fear of getting out of #comfortzone?

Can you recollect what it does to your self-confidence? Yes.

These incidents subconsciously discourage you from taking new steps and further demotivate you.

A small leap beyond your #comfortzone gives you a little pat on the back and great confidence.

  5. There are many success stories to get inspired from – Beginning from great athletes to your neighbors who lost extra weight by regularly exercising, there are so many success stories. All these have their sole base on one thing “Getting out of their #comfortzones”.

As someone rightly said, “The hardest thing in life is leaving your comfort zone but the risk is worth the result”.

You must let go few things to go to better places in life.
